Documentation: Complete daily inspection reports and maintain quality control check-sheets. Review drawings, specifications, weld maps and inspection requirements. Verify welder qualifications and certificates.
Material Inspection: Verify material identification, grade, size and condition. Check material certificates and traceability.
Monitor welding activities: Ensure welding is performed in accordance. Monitor parameters and check welder identification and traceability.
Visual inspection: Inspect completed welds for defects such as cracks, undercut, porosity, overlap, lack of fusion, excessive reinforcement and poor weld profile.
Non-conformance control: Record non-conformance and follow up on corrective action. Verify repairs and re-inspect repaired welds.
Quality and safety: Promote compliance with project’s QMS. Ensure inspection activities are performed safely. Stop or report welding work when quality requirements are not being met.
